One of Armenia’s greatest assets is its abundant sunshine, and the immense potential that comes with it.
In this article, I want to highlight why Armenia’s solar education is critically important, especially in the country’s regions where young people have a unique opportunity to study solar engineering, find employment, and remain in their hometowns or villages.
This profession connects with nearly every sector in the country, including tourism in Armenia, where clean solar energy is increasingly used in guesthouses, hotels, and other facilities that host thousands of visitors each year.
Armenia’s Solar Education: Why it’s Important and How to Help!
Solar education is more than a technical field; it’s a key to unlocking local development and building a future where Armenia’s natural resources benefit every corner of the country.
The social impact is significant—by empowering the next generation with solar knowledge, we create sustainable communities, reduce energy dependence, and strengthen Armenia’s green economy.

Zenith Academy’s Founding Story
Zenith Academy was founded in 2022 through a close partnership between Armenia and France.
The Armenian Federation of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes created it with strong support from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the City of Grenoble, the Schneider Electric Foundation, and other dedicated partners.
In just three years, the Academy has grown into a leading center for tech education. It stands out for its focus on decentralized learning and fresh, innovative teaching methods that are shaping the future of education.
Mission and Vision
Zenith Academy has a clear mission: to support the growth of decentralized tech education across Armenia.
The Academy is building a high-quality technical education system that meets global standards using modern teaching methods.
Its long-term goal is to help shape Armenia into a country that’s both technologically advanced and economically strong by training skilled professionals with up-to-date knowledge.
Graduates from Zenith Academy are well-prepared to become leaders in their fields. The Academy has also built a strong professional community, where people share knowledge, support one another, and stay connected to the latest industry trends and opportunities.
Zenith Academy plays a role in developing educational tourism in Armenia as well. Each year, its tech center in Sevan welcomes around 100 visitors from across the country, along with delegations from France and other nations.
The Academy’s model also helps drive growth in Armenia’s energy sector, creating a long-term impact beyond the classroom.
Impressive Results in a Short Period
From 2022 to the present, the Academy’s numerical indicators attest to its effectiveness:
- 3 main training areas
- 120 student participants
- 43 participating instructors
- 46 adult participants
- 1,101 conducted class hours
- 10+ participating cities
These indicators confirm the Academy’s ability to deliver technological education to various cities and settlements across Armenia, fulfilling its mission of decentralized development.
All expenses for these courses have been covered through scholarships provided by the Academy’s partners (including food, accommodation in Sevan, and transportation costs).
Now, anyone who shares the foundation’s mission can become a donor, as the foundation has launched a public fundraising campaign.
