Over the past decade, the cocktail bar scene in Yerevan has evolved tremendously, and many new places have opened in the capital of Armenia.
I was never a cocktail person, however, during the Yerevan Cocktail boom, I started to develop a love for different cocktails, and I also have my favorite places to drink cocktails in Yerevan.
In this article, I will talk about my favorite cocktail bars in Yerevan, about my favorite cocktails to drink in Yerevan, and also about the typical Armenian cocktails that were created in Armenia.
Best Cocktails in Yerevan: My Top Places
As I mentioned, during the progress of Yerevan cocktail culture, many places were opened to deliver internationally popular cocktails with local ingredients.
Fruits typical to Armenia, like apricots, peaches, plums, pomegranates, and more, are widely used in modern Armenian cocktails.
The world-famous Ararat Brandy is also widely used in the creation of some of the most delicious cocktails in Yerevan.
In the places below, it is possible to find the finest cocktail bars in Yerevan in my opinion, learn about their cocktail menu, and more.
1. Epicure
Epicure is one of the hippest bars in Yerevan and my long-time favorite place where I’m not only drinking good cocktails and wine but also sometimes co-working because the venue is comfortable.
In Epicure, they love to experiment and give twists to famous cocktails. For example, my favorite classic cocktail, the Old Fashion, is served with an Armenian twist called the Old Fashioned Syunik.
The cocktail is popular in Armenia and has an Ararat brandy or aged plum spirit and walnut syrup.
Starting in the spring in Armenia or during hotter weather, Epicure has a wonderful outdoor terrace on the sidewalk where I love to hang out and drink cocktails.

2. Minas Cocktail Room
Right next to Epicure, there is the Minas Cocktail Room, part of The Collective, which is a combination of a restaurant, cocktail room, and one of the most popular coffee shops in Yerevan.
The name Minas is dedicated to the famous Armenian painter Minas Avetisyan, and the room is decorated in his artistic style.
Minas Cocktail Room is famous for its specialty cocktails, Minka (based on Japanese whiskey, cherry, and blossom cordial) or Bouncing Strawberry (based on gin and elderflower liqueur).
The cocktail list is big, including classic cocktails like Aperol Spritz, Pisco Sour, and more, and the atmosphere is relaxing.

3. Bar Phoenīx
The Phoenix Bar is my next favorite place where the atmosphere is relaxing, historical, and tasty. The cocktail bar was opened in the 19th-century historical building and is the place where you can try cocktails based on 12 brandies, mostly from Armenia.
Specialty cocktails like Egregore (based on Ararat Cherry, Campari, and balsamic vinegar) or Abendrot (based on Ararat Honey and Triple Sec) are two of many other interesting cocktails that you will find in this cocktail bar in Yerevan.
At Phoenix Bar, you can not only try Ararat brandy-based cocktails but also buy some fine brandy made in the famous Ararat Brandy factory, like legendary Dvin or Nairi brandies and more.

4. Simona
This dive bar is a combination of diverse cocktails, cool vinyl music, and a New York-style bar atmosphere. Simona is the place where I go later at night after a party to continue partying at a slower pace.
Their Baroque Cocktail Menu list has many interesting and delicious cocktails like Vespers (based on tequila and fruit liquors), and Toccata (based on raspberry vodka, maple infused with vanilla). I love their Moscow Mule cocktail.
Visit Simona if you feel that you are relaxed but still want to go out and enjoy Yerevan’s cocktail night.

5. Roza Bar Yerevan
When you visit Roza Bar, you feel like you are visiting someone’s house. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the staff is friendly. Roza Bar is also located in a historic building.
The selection of cocktails is great because they have specialty cocktails that I would recommend to all cocktail lovers.
Cocktails like Julia, Leticia C, and Datze are worth trying and appreciating the combination of ingredients. If you love jazz and live music in general, then you can catch some great concerts at Roza Bar while sipping your cocktail.

6. DABOO Cocktail Bar
Located at one of the most popular places in Yerevan, the Cascade Daboo cocktail bar is another great bar to have high-quality cocktails.
Over the years, Daboo has become one of the most beloved speakeasy-style cocktail bars in Yerevan for locals and tourists. I’ve been there many times and believe that they have one of the best cocktails in Yerevan.
The bartenders carefully create unique combinations of tastes for cocktails in Daboo, including cocktails like Berry Mule (based on ginger beer, live vodka, and passionfruit), Marmelada (based on silver tequila, homemade citrus jam, and chocolate bitters), and more.

7. Forty44
Located on a popular pub street in Yerevan Forty44 is my new favorite place where to enjoy cocktails in Yerevan and not only. Each time I’ve visited Forty44 I find myself in th middle of great live music concerts and the atmosphere was great In addition to the cocktails there are there.
At this place, I’ve tried classic cocktails like Old Fashioned, Moscow Mule, and Bloody Mary, and I love the taste of them. Also, the interior of Forty44 is looking very interesting. The unplastered walls and artistic decoration make the place charming in its own way.
