How to Get from Yerevan to Kapan
There are 3 ways to get from Yerevan to Kapan, with different time ranges suited for everyone. See the options below:
- From Yerevan to Kapan by Minibus (the cheapest option, around 6 hours)
- From Yerevan to Kapan by Taxi (the most expensive option, around 5 hours)
- Flight from Yerevan to Kapan (fastest option, around 40 minutes)
Minibus to Kapan
Taking a minibus (marshrutka) is one of the cheapest options on how to get from Yerevan to Kapan. The minibuses numbered 611 and 607 Kapan are departing from Intertown Bus Station, which is located behind the Sasuntsi Davit Train Station.
This route to Kapan from Yerevan includes a Yerevan to Goris connection, as the minibus makes a stop in Goris to drop off passengers.
The ticket price for a minibus from Yerevan to Kapan is approximately 3,500 AMD ($9) per person.

Taxi To Kapan
If you are planning to get to Kapan privately or traveling with a group or family, then taking a taxi from Yerevan to Kapan can be a good option, but it won’t be a cheap one.
The Armenian online taxi companies like GG or Yandex Taxi’s ride to Kapan from Yerevan can cost around 42,000 AMD ($110) per person. The ride will last approximately 5 hours.
Pro Tip: If taking a minibus or taxi but still want to get from Yerevan to Kapan faster, you can take shared taxis from the same Intertown Bus Station. The cost is 6000 AMD ($15) per person.
Flight to Kapan
The Armenian government is trying to restart Yerevan to Kapan flights that have been operating since Soviet Union times. Nowadays, regular flights to Kapan from Yerevan depart from Zvartnots Airport to Syunik Airport.
A one-way flight from Yerevan to Kapan will cost around 20,000 AMD ($50). A round trip will cost 40,000 ($100). The flight will last around 40 minutes. To book a flight, follow the website.
Tip: A flight to Kapan might not be the cheapest option (it is cheaper than a taxi), but it’s the fastest one, and you can see the gorgeous Armenian landscape from above. If you want to save money, you can take a minibus ride back to Yerevan and see the scenery from the vehicle.
