How To Get From Yerevan to Dilijan

The distance between Yerevan and Dilijan is approximately 96 kilometers (60 miles). It is one of the most popular day trips from Yerevan and many travelers are looking at how to get to Dilijan for Yerevan and from other cities of Armenia.

There are 3 ways how to get from Yerevan to Dilijan with different time ranges. See the options below:

  • From Yerevan to Dilijan by Minibus (around 2 hours)
  • From Yerevan to Dilijan by Taxi (around 1 hour)
  • Tour to Dilijan from Yerevan (several hours, including other places)

Minibus to Dilijan

Taking the minibus is the cheapest way to get from Yerevan to Dilijan. I wouldn’t say it’s the most time-efficient option, but if you’re on a tight budget, then you can take it.

The minibusses to Dilijan from Yerevan depart from Northern Bus Station, which is located quite far from Yerevan Center where the Sevan highway starts.

It is part of the Yerevan to Ijevan route, which also includes the Yerevan to Tsaghkadzor or Yerevan to Sevan routes.

  • The timetable from Yerevan to Dilijan: from 9:00 to 17:30
  • The return schedule: from 9:00 to 16:00
  • Minibus (Marshrutka) numbers 654, 656, 651, 655
  • Ticket price: 1000 AMD ($2.60)

Consider that you need to take public transportation from Yerevan center to get to Northern Bus Station which is another 30 minutes or so.

Insider tip:  If you have time or will arrive earlier before catching your minibus, I would recommend checking out the Northern Bus Station building from the inside. It’s a known Soviet architectural gem.

Taxi to Dilijan

The fastest and easiest option to get from Yerevan to Dilijan is to take a taxi, but it’s not a cheap option.

I would suggest sharing the cost with other people if you are traveling to Dilijan with a group. The one-way ride to Dilijan for Yerevan will cost 17,000 AMD (around $45).
